I tried to contact Lamar Alexander by email, but no luck.
So Lamar, it must be like this.
Dear Senator Alexander,
This email will be posted online at dailykos.com.
I come from five generations of East Tennesseans, and grew up in Knoxville.
On the health care issue I have been first shocked, then dismayed, then angered by your behavior toward President Obama. If any state in the union needs health care reform, it's Tennessee. Yet you called the efforts of Congress a "kamikaze mission."
You say bad things:
President Obama took Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to task today for misrepresenting what the CBO says health care reform will do to peoples' premiums.
"Let me respond to what you just said, Lamar, because it's not factually accurate," Obama said. "The cost for families for the same type of coverage as they're currently receiving would go down 14 to 20 percent."
You GOP boys talk about the government, how bad it is, then you cater to the Tennessee Valley Authority; cheer on the Vols at UT, a land grant university; and no doubt lobby for more defense contracts at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
How is it that an intelligent public servant such as yourself could stoop so low as to insult your President and harm the people of Tennessee with your lies about health care reform? The health care bill is going to pass. As flawed as it is, it's the start of a system that will help thousands of Tennesseans.
You accused Obama of deliberately sabotaging the economy.
Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) on Monday said President Barack Obama is promoting a climate-change bill that would "deliberately" kill American jobs -- a statement immediately dismissed by the bill’s chief promoter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).
Then there's this: You, Lamar, voted against a defense spending bill because it contained a rider that gave due process rights to rape victims of Iraq contractors. You voted for RAPE! What is the matter with you?! Of course, it was all about defeating Obama, any way you could, and if raped women were denied justice, too bad, right?
I don't care how well you play the piano or how many plaques are on your walls, your most recent year as a senator has been DISGRACEFUL.
